On day 1, the CEO of SASNOC, Tuala Matthew Vaea, was chosen to chair a debate session and conducted the debate making sure that the participants followed the rules of debating.

The topic was  “Home or Away? To unlock the true potential of Pacific athletes' athletic performances, a high-performance environment outside of the Pacific Islands is critical”

See two teams ‘Affirmative’ and ‘Negative’ go head-to-head debating a thought-provoking topic relating to transforming Pacific performance in the ten-year roadmap to Brisbane 2032. 

Both sides made strong arguments, and the debate was successful in its conclusion.
